Biography

With over 30 years of experience, Kurt Rosentreter is a highly respected figure in the financial and wealth management industry. He holds a multitude of designations including Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI). Kurt graduated from the University of Manitoba with a bachelor’s degree in commerce (Honours Finance). He also completed a two-year post-CA Income Tax Specialization while working with one of Canada’s “Big Four” CPA firms. 

Kurt has served as an instructor for financial and wealth management courses for the Ontario, Manitoba, and British Columbia CPA Associations, teaching personal finance to Certified Public Accountants. Additionally, he is a respected media expert on personal finance, having contributed to notable publications and media outlets including The Globe and Mail, National Post, Maclean’s, and CBC.

As a past National Board Member of the Canadian Association of Financial Advisors and a former committee member of prominent organizations such as The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and The Financial Planner Standards Council, Kurt has played a significant role in shaping the financial planning landscape in Canada. 

He is a best-selling personal finance author with notable works such as Tax Smart Investing, Wealthbuilding, and Rosentreter's Rules on Wealth Management.
